Poker machine maker Aristocrat Leisure reported half-year revenue that fell well short of market expectations due to weaker fees and machine sales, sending its shares down over 13 per cent.

Revenue climbed 9 per cent for the half-year ending March 31 to $3 billion, but missed consensus expectations for $3.3 billion. Net profit rose slightly to $664.9 million, with increased costs partly offsetting rising revenue.
