Australia’s business chiefs are calling on Labor to prioritise a productivity agenda which unlocks long-term economic growth and use its strong mandate to make tough decisions on workplace reform, overhaul the tax system and remove regulatory barriers.

Energy giants said heavy electoral losses for the Greens in the House of Representatives should prompt Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to support the development of more gas reserves to help solve the energy crisis. Rio Tinto wants Labor to remove uncertainties around environmental approvals for new mining projects.
