PwC tech consultants achieved the rare feat of delivering a $60 million tech project on time and on budget by resisting the urge to overly customise the banking system being installed.

The decision to install a mostly vanilla version of the UK-based software behind AMP Bank – limiting changes to small tweaks to meet Australian standards – meant the financial services giant was able to launch its new online offering just one year and three months after it was first announced to the market.
