A visit to the northern NSW town of Moree last month made it clear to Westpac chief executive Anthony Miller he should continue to re-open branches in thriving regional areas, as part of a push to recover market share and bolster the bank’s presence in agribusiness banking.

Miller went even further on Monday and said Westpac was underweight the agricultural sector as he identified it as an attractive growth area for existing and new customers.
