Australian customers of genetic testing company 23andMe are being encouraged to delete their data before it is sold to the highest bidder in a May 14 auction linked to the company’s bankruptcy.
However, cybersecurity experts warn that even if customers request their genetic data be deleted, there is no guarantee it will be permanently erased before the auction takes place.
